Whakatā Owner, Massage Therapist
Born and bred in Southland, Rachael Brown is a southerner through and through having grown up in Invercargill. As an 18 year old, she moved to Te Anau to begin a 12-year career in hospitality before heading to Australia and the UK on her ‘Overseas Experience’. After returning to New Zealand, a new path beckoned and Rachael graduated with a Diploma in Therapeutic Massage from the Canterbury College of Natural Medicine. Since then, she’s run a very busy local massage therapy business in Te Anau, juggling being mum to two girls with continued higher education – which she believes is key to being a good bodywork practitioner.
In 2015, Rachael became a Reiki master teacher, and has loved sharing this knowledge with others. In 2016, Rachael added Lymphatic Drainage to her skillset, which has quickly become a favourite style of massage with its gentle style of application and measurable results. Rachael regularly attends workshops so clients are always benefitting from new techniques and learnings. She’s a member of Massage New Zealand, which ensures high standards of practice and continued education for members.
